TRIANGL DREAMING

Wednesday, 5 November 2014

The best news.
I was so so lucky to receive an email from the lovely Emma at Triangl offering to send me a bikini.. although not just any bikini. A triangl bikini. Of which I have been lusting over for the last year.
Maybe a month too late in October?
Not for me.
Perhaps I'm actually "in pursuit of an endless summer?" Imagine that though.

I am so happy with my choice of the Black Neon - Orange Burst bikini, the colour really doesn't dissapoint. And despite hearing a fair amount of negative critism on sizing mine fits perfectly. Only thing I would say, the neoprene material of which the bikini is made of makes the bottoms quite tight so if you are worrying about them cutting in I would go for a size up. I got top and bottom in size Small and im an average size 8 in regular high street stores.

For me it exceeded all expectations and despite the cold weather beginning to set in and me freezing my tits off I still find ways to wear the bikini top, under see-through tees and even as a bra just because of how comfy it is.

And what's even better? You get a cute mini neoprene drawstring bag with it...I just wish I was able to rock it for outlook festival.

Although definitely an investment, 100% with the money I mean I'm still in love 2 months later.

BACK FROM HIBERNATION

I'm back!
It's been too long and now the "crazy busy summer" excuse just won't cut it, especially as now I've started my year out (which is going too fast to comprehend)! Working full time is a whole new ball game, although I'm pleased to tell you I haven't become a complete recluse/loser since the majority of my friends are now at uni...

So the plan is: to post as many blog posts as possible this week just to make up for the time I spent away from this sunning myself in Ibiza, Kos, Zante and Outlook festival in Croatia (a whole other story..)

Starting with most recently, last week I attended my cousins beautiful wedding. And for me the main stress was ofcourse what to wear. I struggled for so long trying to find something suitable and although originally I was hoping to find the perfect midi dress I instead stumbled across this jumpsuit while in a mad rush in Brighton.

I was so happy to find this as I had seen things similar on misguided and asos but wasn't 100% sure without seeing it in person (I'm like an old person in the respect I hate online shopping). I found this in River Island however and even better it was in the sale for £20!!

River Island was honestly a saviour for me as not only did i get my jumpsuit from there but the shoes too. If you know me well you'll understand how obsessed I am with shoes, whether it's chunky boots, trainers or in this case huge platforms. These pony hair leopard print platforms could have gone either way...disgustingly tacky or ridiculously beautiful? These are definitely the latter. Although they are a good 6" high, the block heel makes them super comfy and for £35 in the sale again how could I actually not?

In order to match the outfit together I  rummaged around at home and found I had the perfect clutch from topshop. I must have bought it a couple of years ago now but I know a lot of the high street stores have items similar in at the moment, in preparation for winter and the fur craze which is just beginning.

Now maybe the best bit of the whole outfit??! A Biba pony hair leopard print arm cuff. If you haven't seen the variations of Biba cuffs beforehand, take a trip to House of Fraser..I challenge you to not fall in love.

No more stupidly long/lame posts from now onwards and I'm definitely planning to take some new photos on my proper SLR but for now you'll just have to deal with the shit quality, apologies.

"WHY WAS I NOT AT COACHELLA?"

Wednesday, 16 April 2014

With half of my instagram feed posting photos of Coachella (making me ridiculously jealous), its probably the right time to make a festival inspired post. I recently went shopping to Brighton and brought a huge number of things for summer as this year i'm lucky enough to be going to Ibiza, Kos, Zante, (fingers crossed Reading Festival if i have the funds) and Outlook Festival in Croatia.

One of my favourite purchases was this simple black dress. Last year i bought a similar playsuit from H&M in the same material with a cut out back and have worn it all through the year, layering it with long sleeved (usually striped) tshirts, tights and boots. I decided to mix it up a bit this year with a dress, which i wouldn't usually go for however the ruched details on the skirt makes it suitable for day or evening wear. As it's not quite warm enough to wear it alone, i decided to team this with a simple cropped white mesh short sleeved tee and my CAT's for an effortless outfit.

I also recently bought my Caterpillar boots on ebay, which i won for £19. I'm very aware its coming up to summer and steel toe boots are going to be sweltering but for that price i just had too. If they weren't so warm i wouldn't even hesitate wearing mine to the festivals I'm going to this summer (particularly as chunky black boots have become one of my slight obsessions!)

I did warn you that my new hat was likely to be in most of my future posts, but honestly it's literally the most convenient thing when you're having a bad hair day..

Item specifics are as shown:

Black Felt Fedora Hat : New Look
£7.00 (In Store Promotion)

SVART LIMITED EDITION Black Watch: Larsson and Jennings
£245
(Will talk about my beautiful watch more in the future)

Cropped White Mesh Tshirt: Primark
£5.00

Black Ruched Sun Dress with cut-out back: H&M
£14.99

CAT Holton Boot: Caterpillar
RRP £101 (Bought brand new for £19.00)

You may have noticed I'm also slightly more brown then before and although i wish this was because I've just returned back from Coachella it's actually all thanks to St. Tropez Self Tanning Mousse. Although yes, St. Tropez is a little pricey at around £30 i promise you its worth it. It definitely provides a natural looking tan in hours and is incredibly easy to applicate reducing the likelihood of streaks and stains. So go buy it :)

If you have any ideas for future blog posts just let me know :)

I'M NEW TO THIS - CLASHING SQUARES

Monday, 14 April 2014

So this is my first blog post despite the fact i've wanted to do this for a while now but never had the time. When better to start a blog than just before exams are about to begin where i should theoretically be revising right?!
I have been inspired by many blogs this year and simply wanted to use this as a platform to show off some of my own style choices, in addition to my instagram (which most of the time is full of shameless selfies anyway, which i should really apologise for!!)

So outfit number one was thrown together this morning when i made the spontaneous decision to create this blog. Item specifics are as shown:

Black Felt Fedora Hat : New Look
£7.00 (In Store Promotion)

Black/White Gridded Sweater : H&M
£14.99

Belt: Charity Shop
£2.00

Dog Tooth Cigarette Trousers : Mango
£22.99

Chunky Black Sandals : H&M
£24.99

Sometimes its a really good idea to stay well clear of clashing prints, but this season i love it. I recently bought a matching neon floral two piece which i'll probably show in my next post but needless to say i reckon these two prints look cool together. Although i'm slowly moving away from my black on black on black phase as the weather improves, i love this outfit's simplicity. My hat and sandals are most likely going to be a regular occurance in these outfit posts (sorry) but that doesn't bother me as these are now literally my summer essentials.

Comment with any ideas for new posts or whatever and follow my instagram if you don't already, as i update that a lot more often :)

Until next post, see yaaaaaa
